The Soueida-born artist has lived and worked in the French capital since 1984. One of Syria’s best-known artists internationally, Ziad Dalloul has exhibited around the world, and his work can be found in major public collections including those of the British Museum, Institut du Monde Arab, Khaled Shoman Foundation, Atassi Foundation and more.
Born in 1953 in Syria, he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University in 1977. He taught art in Algeria, then moved to Paris, where he obtained a degree from the École Nationale Supérieure Des Arts Décoratifs in 1987. He held many solo exhibitions in Damascus, Paris, Abu Dhabi, Italy, and Jordan. Dalloul’s technical expertise and skills range from painting to etching and book illustrations. He uses subjects, from nature and still life, through colour density and forms.
