Born in Damascus in 1973, Jaber al-Azmeh graduated from the Department of Visual Communications, Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University; in 1996. Since 1998, his career has been dedicated to photography and digital photography. Later on, he became a lecturer at Damascus International University of Science and Technology. Jaber al-Azmeh participated in several shows and group expositions throughout Venice, Berlin, Dubai, Paris, Doha, London, and Damascus. His works were covered by major Arab and international publications, and have been displayed in Arab and European museums. Recently, Jaber al-Azmeh has been focusing on the situation in Syria, using different methods, such representing violent body movements, and highlighting the absence of identity. He also photographed reactions of a number of Syrian figures holding al-Baath newspaper, to condense the image of the repressive regime in Syria.
